ICT vision for the new build taking shape

A proportion of the funding awarded by Partnerships for Schools (PfS) for the new academy build is allocated solely to ICT.

Whilst there is still a little bit of work to be done, the ICT vision is taking shape and whilst it is yet to be finalised, the academy is working hard to secure:

  • A mixed-economy of portable devices, Windows-based and Mac-based PCs

  • Hand-held mobile technology devices for all students andĀ iPads for staff to transform the teaching and learning exeprience
  • Apple TV and large HDMI, flat-screen televisions (circa 38″) in all classrooms
  • Interactive whiteboards in selected spaces
  • A Green Room

  • Mac labs in Design and Technology and Creative Arts
  • Biometric systems for registration and cashless cafeteria

  • Giant projection screen to transform theatre into a cinema

  • State of the art lighting rigs and control desks
  • ‘Sony TV Wall’ as a focal point of main reception, providing visitors with to the academy

A fantastic vision which will equip staff and pupils for their futures in this electronic age.
